The Dodgers have apparently found their next manager and it indeed will be Dave Roberts
It looks as if the search for the next Los Angeles Dodgers manager has come to a close. More than likely some time on Monday or late Sunday night here, the team is expected to name Dave Roberts their next skipper.
Sources confirm: Dave Roberts expected to be named #Dodgers manager. Talks in final stages. First reported: @dylanohernandez, @BillShaikin.

Whether or not this will make Dodgers fans happy remains to be seen, seeing as Roberts is now coming into one of the most lucrative jobs in baseball with no managerial experience at all. While we’ve seen rookie managers have some success recently, it’s a whole other animal when the team you’re in charge of is the Dodgers, the team who just fired their former manager following another run to the playoffs.
Roberts, 43, joined the Dodgers team leading up to the 2002 season, so he’s somewhat familiar with the organization. From there, he went on to the Boston Red Sox via a trade, and well, it was there he became a household name as he was an integral part in helping Boston make history against the New York Yankees in 2004.
He’s been a coach with the San Diego Padres since the 2011 season, where he joined the team as a first base coach.
Also in consideration for the job up to this point was Gabe Kapler.
