Demaryius Thomas catches 48-yard TD (Video)
The Denver Broncos are hoping to break a two-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bears, and they are thrilled with their start.
After forcing a three-and-out, Denver took the ball and moved without issue to Chicago’s 48-yard line. From there, Brock Osweiler hit Demaryius Thomas with a short throw across the middle, with Thomas making a few defenders miss on his way to a touchdown. For Thomas, it was the longest play of the season. For Osweiler, the quarterback making his first NFL start has a touchdown only two passes into the game.
Denver benched Peyton Manning last Sunday in a brutal loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, after Manning threw for 35 yards on 20 attempts with four interceptions. Osweiler came in and played decent football, throwing a touchdown along with an interception to Eric Berry. Osweiler is in his fourth year out of Arizona State University, being drafted in the second round.
For Thomas, it is the continuation of another great season. Thomas had 68 catches for 816 yards and a touchdown entering Sunday, putting him on the threshold of a fourth-straight 1,000-yard campaign.
