Marquess Wilson-Chicago Bears

The Bears have made a nice push the last few weeks, and they could get back to .500 with a win today against Jay Cutler’s old team as the Broncos roll into the Windy City.  Despite their recent success, the Bears receiving corps has struggled with injury all season long and today looks to be another brutal day for Chicago WR’s.

Eddie Royal has already been ruled out, Kevin White is still on IR, and Alshon Jeffery is unlikely to play with shoulder and groin injuries.  All the carnage at the top of the depth chart leaves Marquess Wilson as the team’s top receiver for today.

Wilson has played a ton of snaps this season, but he has only been effective in a few games.  He has just one catch in each of the last three weeks for a total of 30 yards.  However, Wilson did post a pair of nice games earlier this season when both Jeffery and Royal were sidelined.  He caught six passes for 80 yards against the Raiders and six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown agains the Chiefs.

This week, the Bears will need him to return to that production level despite a tough matchup against the Broncos defense.  Wilson will likely be defended by Aqib Talib for much of the day, but Jay Cutler will throw the ball a ton as usual and many of those passes will go Wilson’s way.  While I don’t expect him to explode due to the matchup, I do think Wilson will get enough looks, catches, and yards to be a solid last-minute play.  He’s currently available in 97% of ESPN leagues and makes a solid plug-and-play option if your normal receivers are on a bye week or hurt.  On DraftKings, he’s a solid 3,500 flier while he’ll cost you 5,100 on FanDuel which is a solid price for a top receiver option.
