Mark Sanchez is probably not the savior of the Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have been disappointing for much of the 2015 NFL season. With all of Chip Kelly’s personnel moves, specifically the addition of Sam Bradford, there were high hopes for what the Eagles offense would look like this season. However, it’s largely been lackluster with Bradford and basically everyone else. If you thought it was bad with Bradford, though, then there may not be words for Mark Sanchez.
With Bradford injured, Sanchez got the start for Philly in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers have been far from world-beaters this season, but that’s what Sanchez made their defense look like on Sunday. He threw three interceptions on the afternoon. He saved the best for last late in the fourth quarter with the Eagles already down 38-17 when Sanchez tried to throw a dump-off pass to Darren Sproles. He threw an incredibly weak, poorly thrown pass that was picked off by Lavonte David and taken to the house:
Just when you think that things couldn’t get any more frustrating in Philadelphia, Mark Sanchez comes in and makes it clear that things can always be worse. He wasn’t entirely incompetent on the afternoon, but he’s always going to make mistakes and poor plays like this it seems. And we’ll always be here to have a little fun at his expense when he does.
