The Packers ended their three-game losing streak with an emphatic win over the Vikings.

Final. 13. 60. 30. 49

The Green Bay Packers went into TCF Bank Stadium for an NFC North matchup with the Minnesota Vikings needing a win in so many ways. Not only had the Vikings taken the lead in the division with their winning streak coming into Week 11, but the Packers had been slipping in a big way as they had lost three consecutive games coming into this matchup. Though Aaron Rodgers wasn’t particularly efficient with his passing on the day, the Packers offense came to life while their defense stepped up to the plate in a game where this team desperately needed both things to happen.

Eddie Lacy finally got his legs under him after missing the Packers’ last game with a groin injury. He ran with the burst and the vision that he showed last year that had many people viewing him as one of the NFL’s next star running backs. Moreover, another old face in Green Bay showed up as James Jones came up huge in the second half for the Packers, including one drive where he made a remarkable catch for a first down, a great touchdown catch, and then caught the two-point conversion just for good measure.

The Packers defense was also phenomenal in this effort. Teddy Bridgewater was continuously under pressure, especially in the second half. Moreover, Adrian Peterson was all but shut down in this game, effectively shutting down Minnesota’s greatest offensive threat. The Vikings put up a fight, but it was ultimately a dominant win for the Packers when they needed it.

Three stars

James Jones resurfaced as the star in the receiving core for Green Bay, including a number of timely catches that were as impressive as they were needed. He finished the afternoon with six catches for 109 yards and a score.

Teddy Bridgewater had some trouble with the Packers blitzes, but was a warrior and had a solid day at the office. He finished the day going 25-37 for 296 yards and a touchdown along with 43 rushing yards toward his production.

Eddie Lacy finally showed up for the Packers looking like the star he was last season. He finished the day with 22 carries for 100 yards, by far the best he’s looked in quite some time for Green Bay.

Highlights

Odds

Minnesota came into this game as one-point favorites, which they failed to cover in the sizable loss. The two teams also fell just short of the 44-point over/under.

Next Week

The Packers will be at Lambeau Field on Thanksgiving Day to take on the Chicago Bears.

Minnesota will go on the road next Sunday to face the declining Atlanta Falcons.
