Rolando McClain scored the Cowboys’ first points in Tony Romo’s return
The Dallas Cowboys were riding high into Week 11, not because of any success over their last seven games, but because of the return of their star quarterback in Tony Romo. However, Romo threw an interception on just his second drive of the game and the Cowboys were in a scoreless tie with the Miami Dolphins. Rolando McClain decided to lend his returning quarterback a hand.
After picking off Romo, deep in their own territory, the Dolphins already had a long field in front of them. So, when Ryan Tannehill threw a weak pass with not a lot of air under it, McClain was waiting to pounce and didn’t have a long trot ahead of him to take his interception across the goal line for six:

That was far from a great pass by Tannehill, but that was a heady play by McClain to read the throw and make that pick where he did on the field. If he was just a bit deeper in coverage, he’s probably not able to make that play and, even if he does, he probably doesn’t have the room to get into the end zone.
Romo may have not gotten the Cowboys’ first points in his return, but McClain put him and Dallas in a good position in the first half. For a team that’s lost seven consecutive games without Romo, I think they’ll take it.
