Kwon Alexander is expected to be handed a four-game suspension letter after violating the NFL PED agreement.

Kwon Alexander is pegging the blame for performance enhancing drugs being found in his system on an energy drink. According to the Tampa Tribune, earlier Monday Kwon Alexander is expected to receive a four-game suspension that will see the linebacker lose more than $100,000 per his original contract signing agreement.

News of this came shortly after the Buccaneers won quite handily against Mark Sanchez and his Philadelphia Eagles. Also, at the moment it’s not entirely sure when Alexander was discovered to be using PED’s, according to a source, it might have stemmed right around his Alexander’s time at training camp.

General Manager Jason Licht has withheld commenting until the NFL has submitted its official notice, which should come shortly but suffice to say, he’s pretty upset. Since then, Alexander himself has taken responsibility for his actions.

"“It’s very disappointing, and I’m just disappointed in myself because all (our coaches) keep saying, ‘If you’re going to drink something, ask somebody first.’ So I hold myself accountable.I’ve never been in any trouble or anything, so it’s very disappointing,”"

When asked if he would appeal the decision in a bid to return to gameplay as soon as possible, Kwon responded.

"“I’m definitely going to appeal it, and whatever the (result of) the appeal process is, I’ll come back even stronger.’’"

If it indeed was an energy drink that caused his test results to come back positive, people on social media sure aren’t buying it.

Performance enhancing drugs are always a touchy subject in the NFL ever since a new drug policy was approved back in September of last year. In the NCAA and even on some high school level sports, drugs such as caffeine are banned from a players system. But the rules in the NFL are pretty cut and dry and it’s not likely that Alexander’s appeal will be viewed favorably.
