WARNING: Fantasy football owners of Patriots players are none too happy on Twitter right now, and it features some strong language.
The New England Patriots have not lit up the scoreboard on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills, and quarterback Tom Brady has had an overall disappointing performance. Fantasy football owners are understandably ticked off with Brady failing to come through for them, even though Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is notorious for hating fantasy football.
Brady only has one touchdown pass as of the third quarter, and he has not been able to consistently move the chains against a vaunted Bills defense. As a result, wide receiver Danny Amendola has had a disappointing performance in fantasy football as well. He has caught the most passes for the Patriots, so PPR owners are probably not complaining too much. Nonetheless, the Patriots offense is not looking like its usual self with wide receiver Julian Edelman out for the season.
Amendola has been called upon to replace Edelman’s production. Running back Dion Lewis suffering a season-ending injury of his own also contributed to Amendola becoming the most coveted waiver wire pickup for Week 11. It remains to be seen if Brady and Amendola can finally exploit a Bills defense that is sure to be tired in the fourth quarter.
Brady and Amendola’s fantasy owners are not happy campers, especially those who are reliant on a Monday night win. A call by the officials that went against the Patriots hurt many fantasy owners, as a throwaway pass by Brady to Amendola was ruled dead. If Amendola was ruled in bounds, he would have ran for a long touchdown. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski missing a 54-yard field goal also angered plenty of fantasy players, as they did not receive the five points they expected from the formerly perfect kicker. Here are some tweets featuring some unhappy fantasy football players.
Stephen gostkowski might have just fucked me in fantasy this week. His first missed field goal came at the worst time. #KickTheDamnBallSteve

When you're down 8 points in fantasy and you have Danny Amendola AND Tom Brady playing for your team #ZebrasSuck #ThatWasMyWin

As a man who's playing Danny Amendola and Tom Brady in fantasy football, I'd like to send that line judge my congratulations.

I wonder how many people who have Danny Ammendola/Tom Brady on their fantasy football team that are pissed at that call.
