Josh McDaniels

Everyone knows that when Josh McDaniels was the head coach of the Denver Broncos, it ended up as a massive flop that led Josh McDaniels back to being the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots, where he has once again found success.

Just because McDaniels didn’t work the first time around, doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t get another shot at being a head coach again someday. He was very young when he first coached the Denver Broncos. At 39-years-old, he’s still very young in terms of being a head coach.

However, being fired can be a time of great lesson learning for a coach. Going back to the Patriots and having success as a coordinator, has certainly only allowed McDaniels to gain more experience learning under the best head coach in the NFL.

It might still be too early for him to become a head coach again, but he certainly should be able to get some interviews with his past experience and the growth he has shown as a coach in this league. Offense is at a premium in today’s game and perhaps McDaniels could be what the Eagles need at head coach to follow Chip Kelly, should Kelly leave in the off-season.

He obviously showed something all those years ago, when the Broncos decided to make him head coach. The NFL has long been about second chances for coaches and McDaniels will eventually get his second chance again. Is he ready to leave New England? Maybe not, but the more success the Patriots have, the more likely it is that McDaniels will be a future head coach in this league again.
