NFL standings, Week 12: Here come the Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are rolling. Like, all of a sudden making a huge move in the AFC playoff picture.
After being 1-5 and without star running back Jamaal Charles, who tore his ACL in Week 5, the Chiefs have risen from the ashes like a phoenix. Kansas City has won four straight games, including an utter pummeling of both the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers on the road over the past two weeks. The Chiefs jumped out to a 29-0 lead over Denver before winning 29-13, then humiliated Philip Rivers and the Chargers with a 33-3 blowout win on Sunday.
With the recent surge, coupled with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets losing in Week 11, the Chiefs are holding down the sixth seed in the AFC. Kansas City also has the easiest schedule of any team over the final six weeks, playing only one team with a winning record the rest of the way.
Here’s a complete look at the NFL standings after 11 weeks.

The rest of the table shows us that the AFC South is wide open. The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans both won, so they remain tied for at least another week. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a game off the pace after beating the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football.
On the NFC side of things, the Green Bay Packers are back to leading the way after beating the Minnesota Vikings on TCF Bank Stadium on Sunday evening. Green Bay and Minnesota are both sitting at 7-3, but the Packers have the tiebreaker due to the head-to-head win and host the Vikings in Week 17 at Lambeau Field.
