4. Seattle Seahawks undrafted running back shines
The Seattle Seahawks beat the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12 with a convincing score of 29-13. And while the Seahawks have struggled some this season, their win over the 49ers was not surprising.
However, what was a shock was Seattle’s running back. Undrafted rookie running back Thomas Rawls had a Beast Mode-ish game against the 49ers, tallying up 209 yards on the ground.
The 49ers run defense is weak, allowing 126.2 yards per game. Only five teams in the league have a worse per game average. Over 200 yards out of one running back is absurd, insane, and unbelievable. Even more impressive: Not only did Rawls run for 200 yards, he also had 46 receiving yards, putting his total yardage on the day at 255.
Rawls, who has a bowling-ball physique standing a squat 5’9″ and weighing in at 215 pounds, Started his career at Michigan, and then transferred to Central Michigan for the 2014 season. That year against Purdue he rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Later in the season he had a 270-yard game against Northern Illinois, and tallied 229 yards against Ohio. In only seven games, he totaled an impressive 1,103 yards.
Earlier this year Rawls rushed for 104 yards when filling in for Marshawn Lynch in Week 3. At the time he was dubbed Baby Beast. While it isn’t a shock that he is a solid running back, his productivity this week is astounding, especially considering he is an undrafted rookie.
