6. Randy Moss torches America’s Team (1998)

When the Minnesota Vikings welcomed the Dallas Cowboys into town for a Thanksgiving Day game in 1998, Randy Moss was almost always going to be a factor. However, the Cowboys limited the explosive then-rookie receiver to only three catches on the day. However, it just so happens that those three catches were all for touchdowns of over 50 yards.

Moss’ enormous day started almost immediately. He caught a 51-yard touchdown pass to open up the scoring in the first quarter. He wasn’t even done in the first 15 minutes of the Thanksgiving Day contest as he caught a 56-yard touchdown near the end of the quarter to put the Vikes ahead 21-6. Moss then was kept in check in the second quarter, but broke loose again at the end of the third quarter for another 56-yard score.

Randy Moss would obviously go on to wow the masses of NFL fans for the entirety of his career as one of the best receivers to ever play the game. He finished his rookie season with 17 touchdowns, unheard of for a 21-year-old rookie. He was already performing phenomenally that season, however, the argument could be made that his first ever appearance on Thanksgiving was, more or less, his coming out party against Dallas.
