The Washington Redskins continue to astound fans by posting tone deaf things on Twitter like this Thanksgiving message.
While Thanksgiving is a time for families to get together and appreciate what they have, it isn’t always so positive for every family. The holiday can be a bit controversial for Native Americans, who view it not as pilgrims and their ancestors setting aside their differences, but the beginning of the numerous atrocities committed against them in the centuries to follow.
The Los Angeles Times had a great column about Native American’s mixed feelings about the holiday for example.
So when you’re an NFL franchise with a controversial name that many to consider racist when regarding Native Americans, it probably isn’t a great idea to double down on it with a tone-deaf Thanksgiving message.

But do you really expect the Redskins to be considerate of how Native Americans feel?
The comments in response to this post ripped the Redskins as well.
@Redskins I heard there was a PR position open
