Rob Gronkowski uses mental toughness to eat on Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is the time when the food is flowing and the gut that is trying to be hidden comes out loud and proud. Waving its flag like the first time the United States landed on the moon. For professional athletes Thanksgiving is a time for them to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of food and life. For Rob Gronkowski, Thanksgiving is all about using his football skills to control his spoon scooping abilities.
The food baby we all get to enjoy the likes of Gronkowski do not. That makes Thanksgiving especially dangerous as they can eat as much, if not more, food than the average person. On Wednesday, Gronkowski was quizzed about his favorite dish. In fitting fashion, Gronk answered with a Thanksgiving classic-stuffing.
How does Gronkowski restrain from eating too much stuffing? Mental toughness.
From Fox Sports:
"“There’s mental toughness right there. Knowing that you’ve got the huge pie in front of you and only eating a little piece even though you want to eat the whole pie. So definitely know what your limit is because I know anyone in this locker room can put down like six pounds of food and come in the next day a little sluggish…. I’ve been playing for six years, and this is my sixth Thanksgiving during the season. So just enjoy the food, enjoy your friends and family and have a good time, but at the same time we’re just focused on the Denver Broncos.”"
This Thanksgiving when it is fourth and goal and you’re deciding on that last piece turkey, use your mental toughness to make your decision.
