The Georgia Bulldogs tear up some of Grant Field’s turf on put it in their mouths after beating in-state rival Georgia Tech down in Atlanta.
The Georgia Bulldogs didn’t appreciate how their in-state arch rival, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, took to desecrating the sacred hedges of Sanford Stadium last year when Georgia Tech defeated Georgia in double overtime. After beating Georgia Tech 13-7, many of the Georgia players took to ripping up the Grant Field and putting the sod in their mouths.
Junior linebacker Chuks Amaechi is thoroughly enjoying his first taste of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, as he transferred to the Georgia Bulldogs from junior college in January.

The reason behind Georgia’s decision to chew up some of Grant Field’s turf is that Georgia’s English privet hedges are well-known throughout college football. A game being played at Sanford Stadium is synonymous with teeing it up Between the Hedges.
What Georgia Tech did to the hedges would have been on par with Georgia spray painting a giant, red Georgia G right on the Ramblin’ Wreck. Naturally the Georgia Bulldogs were going to do something should they defeat Georgia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium. So the Dawgs took to the turf, chomping at the bit in their rivalry victory to move to 9-3 with a shot at another 10-win season under head coach Mark Richt.
For as rough of a year Georgia has had, they can match their season win total from a year ago with a holiday season bowl game victory. Georgia Tech on the other hand, lost their bowl game to their most hated rival Georgia and finish 2015 with an unthinkable 3-9 record. Today, the Dawgs came out on top in Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.
