Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch exploded for seven touchdown passes in the first half against SMU
Memphis Tigers junior quarterback Paxton Lynch has been turning heads all season at the head of one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Against the SMU Mustangs on Saturday, Lynch only complete nine of his 14 pass attempts in the first half. It just so happens that seven of those nine completions in the first 30 minutes of play went for touchdowns.
Lynch absolutely went on a scoring tear in the first half against SMU. He threw three in the first quarter, starting with a 43-yarder to Phil Mayhue:

Lynch’s scoring in the first quarter was done after a 21-yard pass to Frank Wims:
However, Lynch was just getting started as the second quarter got underway, kicking things off with a 15-yard pass to Daniel Montiel:
The junior then found Anthony Miller for a 44-yard pass that, of course, went for a score:
He then switched it up from the deep ball to hit Daniel Hurd for a 6-yard pass and his sixth touchdown of the half:
With a little more than two minutes still left in the half, Lynch set the American Athletic Conference record with his seventh passing touchdown of the game, this one going to Mose Frazier:

As if throwing seven touchdowns in one half isn’t ridiculous enough, Lynch also managed to throw each of his seven scores to a different receiver. There’s feeling yourself and then there’s whatever Lynch is feeling against SMU on Saturday.
