Jermaine Kearse kept the Seahawks in a tight offensive battle in the first half against the Steelers.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse came up clutch in the second quarter for the Seahawks, as he snagged a touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson. He caught it for 12 yards, and he overcame being sandwiched in between two Pittsburgh Steelers defenders. Here is a video of Kearse being an unsung hero in the Seahawks offense once again and breaking out his touchdown dance.
The Seahawks were not able to hold onto their 14-10 lead before heading into halftime since the Steelers responded with a touchdown of their own, but Wilson put on a quarterback clinic in the first half. Wilson threw for two touchdown passes to get the Seahawks off to a solid offensive start, which they needed since they are still pushing for a playoff spot. The Seahawks have gotten off to a slow start with a 5-5 record, and they will need a home win against the Steelers to stay in the playoff hunt. The Arizona Cardinals have all but wrapped up the NFC West title, but a wild card spot is still within reach for the Seahawks.
Their season has not gotten any easier with the loss of Pro Bowl running back Marshawn Lynch, who underwent surgery. This was not related to his sports hernia injury, but that will keep him out for at least month. Luckily, rookie Thomas Rawls has filled in extremely well since signing as an undrafted free agent.
