Peyton Manning is an old man.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is 40 years old. He is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and a Super Bowl champion with nothing left to prove. At this point, it is probably time for him to retire. He has thrown for nine touchdowns against 17 interceptions, but more importantly, is becoming an old man.

Look, Manning is still on the active roster. He’s hurt and won’t be playing, and he certainly will be on the inactive list for this evening, but he can’t stand on the sideline with everyone else? You can bet your bottom dollar that every other player who is a scratch will be standing or sitting on the sideline.

Manning needs to deal with a little bit of cold. He’s not in the geriatric unit, he’s a professional athlete. When he comes back in a few weeks, the weather is going to be cold. It’s Denver. He might want to be aware that January isn’t going to bring 65 degrees and sunny in the Mile High City.
