The Seahawks kept surging with win in an offensive shootout against the Steelers
The Seattle Seahawks found themselves in unfamiliar territory in terms of how their home games at CenturyLink Field play out as the Pittsburgh Steelers got them into a shootout. However, Russell Wilson delivered with his biggest offensive performance of the 2015 season to carry his team to victory in a game that saw Ben Roethlisberger leave the game with two minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Before his injury, Roethlisberger was solid for the Steelers as he continually found his receivers for big plays, particularly Markus Wheaton who had a career day catching the football. However, their offense couldnāt matchup with what Wilson was dishing out for the Seahawks when he had the ball in his hands.
Wilson continually found his big-play threats such as Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, and Jimmy Graham throughout the day and they, in turn, continually found their way into the end zone. In a two-point game late in the fourth quarter, it was ultimately a fantastic run-after-catch for an 80-yard touchdown from Baldwin and a Kam Chancellor interception on the ensuing Pittsburgh drive that sealed the win for Seattle.
Three stars
Russell Wilson was phenomenal for the Seahawks in this game, having arguably his best day throwing the ball of the entire season. He finished the day going 21-30 for 345 yards and five touchdowns while throwing no picks and rushing for 15 yards.
Doug Baldwin came up huge for Seattle at home on Sunday afternoon as he registered six catches for 145 yards. Oh yeah, he also found his way to the end zone on three occasions, including the game-clinching 80-yarder late in the fourth quarter.
Even in the loss, Markus Wheaton was huge for the Steelers. He registered nine catches for a monstrous 201 yards and a touchdown that came on a critical 69-yard reception.
