Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert has been a touchdown catching machine this season and added another in Week 12
The Cincinnati Bengals have enjoyed quite a bit of success this season, starting out their 2015 campaign unbeaten through their first eight games before dropping their last two. A big part of their success this season has been the emergence of tight end Tyler Eifert as a touchdown-catcher of Gronkowskian proportions. Eifert continued to show those things in Week 12 against the St. Louis Rams.
Eifert ran a simple route up just outside the right hash mark. Andy Dalton uncorked a rocket of a throw right in front of two deep defensive backs for the Rams and Eifert got his hands on the ball, held on through contact, and fell across the goal line for six points:
At least Efiert wasn’t wide-open when he scored, which is more than the Rams can say for their coverage on A.J. Green on the Bengals’ first score of the day.
It feels like Eifert is scoring every time that the Bengals have the ball this season, which isn’t that far from the truth. Sunday’s first-half touchdown was his 12th of the 2015 season, the most in the NFL. He’s been a monster in every sense at the position and is looking more and more like the next star pass-catching tight end in this league.
