ESPN’s Flores says no protests over Travis Kelce dance because he’s not black

Things got a bit uncomfortable with stifled laughter during ESPN’s Fantasy Football ow with Robert Flores stating there were no protests over Kelce dance because simply…he’s not black.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce got the fans on their feet in more ways than one after scoring in the third quarter during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. After scoring on a quick 15-yard catch, Kelce turned the end zone into his own mini dance floor and broke out his best rendition of “Hit the Quan” a dance move referring to one Rich Home Quan in which you “drop low and swing your arms while walking forward with a swagger to the beat.” We’ve posted his dance video below.
But when ESPN’s Fantasy Football now reported on his touchdown dance, host Robert Flores pointed out the painfully obvious truth about the entire dance.
"If you’re wondering why there’s no letters to the editor or why first take’s not doing “Should Travis Kelce be dancing in the end zone?” Wonder why they’re not doing that? Oh, it’s because he’s not black."
Check out Kelce’s sweet moves for yourself and Robert Flores’s apt cultural observation.
Signature touchdown celebrations are somewhat still part of NFL touchdown tradition but less elaborate and short in duration and in theatrics as they used to be. With the crackdown on touchdown dances oftentimes making headlines, Flores points out a double standard that oftentimes the greater media refuses to acknowledge.
Kelce’s touchdown and the following point after touchdown saw the Chiefs take a 21-16 lead over the Bills where the Chiefs went on to defeat the Bills 30-22. The Chiefs improve on a 6-5 on the season.
