The Washington Redskins got the win over the New York Giants to make it a tie atop the standings between the two teams at 5-6. That’s right while everyone makes fun of the AFC South two NFC East teams with losing records are tied for first place.

But the AFC South has two teams atop the division with winning records, so the NFC East take the sole claim to being the worst division in football.

The Redskins took a big 17-0 lead at the half and were leading 20-0 early in the fourth quarter, but they nearly let it slip away. Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who threw three interceptions, mounted a comeback hitting Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham Jr for touchdowns to narrow the lead, but the Redskins were able to hold on to win.

The Redskins defense also made some incredible plays on tipped balls to get those interceptions off of Manning.

Kirk Cousins was surprisingly efficient, completing 20 of 29 passes for 302 yards and a touchdown, but more importantly didn’t turn the ball over.

Now the Redskins play the Dallas Cowboys, who are circling the drain, on Monday Night Football and the Redskins will be looking to improve to .500 on the season.

And the Redskins have been surprisingly good at home, 5-1 so far this season. If they win the division and host a playoff game, could they legitimately win and reach the Divisional Round.
