After Ohio State‘s Michael Thomas questioned Alabama’s schedule, Alabama‘s Cyrus Jones fired back at him on Twitter.
There’s nothing quite like a feud between a wide receiver and a cornerback. The two positions are natural-born enemies that do battle every week and produce the best highlights in college football. So it should come as no surprise that Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones isn’t happy with Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas.
Before deleting his tweets, Thomas took to Twitter to complain that the other ranked teams currently in the College Football Playoff lost at the right time and the Buckeyes, who need help to get in, are at a disadvantage. He also felt like the Buckeyes had a better resume than the Alabama Crimson Tide.
With Thomas making his comments on Twitter, which have since been deleted, Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones decided to take a shot at Thomas and the Buckeyes on Twitter.
Somebody record the OSU game for me this weekend..........
— Cy Jones (@CyJones_) December 1, 2015
Jones decided to troll the Buckeyes with the fact that they aren’t playing in their conference championship this weekend and likely won’t be getting back into the playoff, unless the committee decides to put them in, which would really create a stir among everyone.
The two have squared off before with the Buckeyes and the Crimson Tide meeting in the playoffs last year, and this feud between the two isn’t likely to go away anytime soon.
Thomas might have a point about resumes, but the fact is that his team lost a critical game late in the season, when they know they can’t lose those games. That at the end of the day, will probably be the nail in the Buckeyes not making the playoffs.
If by some miracle they do, everyone can only hope that they play Alabama.
