The Lions running back situation was a total mess at points this season, but as the team has reeled off three straight wins the situation has started to become more clear and productive.  While Joique Bell and Theo Riddick still are getting work, Ameer Abdullah has emerged as the lead back in the timeshare.

Abdullah had a career-high 16 carries against the Eagles on Thanksgiving running for 63 yards and catching a pass for 12 more yards.  Abdullah was the only of the three running backs not to get into the end zone in the Lions’ 45-14 win, but if he keeps getting most of the work he should be able to find the end zone in the coming weeks.

This week, Detroit plays on Thursday once again as they take on the Packers before matchups with the Saints, 49ers, and Bears to close out the season.
