A look at the 10 best college football plays of 2015

The 2015 college football season is coming to a close. Only Championship Week and bowl season remain until one of the best times of the year has officially come and gone. It will come back around again, but it will be a long eight months before it officially does.

We’re also currently in that sweet spot where fans can look back over the past season and reflect on everything that we’ve seen. That could mean recalling the games that changed everything in the landscape of the sport, looking back on the players who took narratives and either ran with them or buried them with their performance, or just remembering the moments that will go on to define the season.

Every season in college football season always seems to have those plays that fans remember well after the conclusion of the season and after the national champion has been crowned. It’s those plays that transcended the moment that they happened in and became something larger because of their impressiveness, their improbability, or even simply their sheer insanity.

Great plays can take many different forms when looking back over a season. There’s obviously going to be those singular individual plays where one player just does something completely absurd. These are the instances someone taking power, athleticism, or pure skill to another level to make a play that no human being has any business makings.

However, those plays are also accompanied by the plays that are just so wild that fans can’t help but remember them long after the season is over. Appalachian State knocking off the Michigan Wolverines thanks to a last-second blocked field goal back in 2007 is an instance that comes to mind; a play where everything just happens right for mass insanity to ensue. That could mean it wins a game or that it just simply should never have happened.

Unsurprisingly with all of the talent in college football right now as a whole, there have been a bevy of remarkable plays throughout 2015. However, the question that remains is which ones were the best of the best, the cream of the crop? That’s what we’ll attempt to settle here.

There are plenty of plays that could easily be debated as top-10 plays of the 2015 college football season, which only speaks more favorably of the state of the sport. However, these are the 10 that have that something special that makes them the best of the year.
