Would Monday Night Football Analyst Jon Gruden leave the booth to coach in the NFL again?

Jon Gruden has become iconic as a member of ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast crew, calling games with Mike Tirico for years. A younger NFL audience may sometimes forget that Gruden was once a Super Bowl-winning NFL head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2002. His late 1990s to early 2000s Oakland Raiders teams weren’t too shabby either.

However even after his questionable firing by the Glazers of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008, Gruden’s name remains one of the more high character, solid coaching candidates out there. He just hasn’t wanted to get back into coaching. The demand for him is still there.

Interestingly after calling Week 12’s Monday Night disaster between two bottom-feeders in the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns, Gruden’s name began circulating as a possible replacement for Mike Pettine in Cleveland. The Browns have the worst record in the NFL at 2-9 and are the most lost team at quarterback in the NFL.

While sticking in the booth seems totally understandable, here are five potential NFL head coaching gigs that Gruden would thrive in if he wanted the opportunity to coach again.
