New York Giants safety Nat Berhe tragically lost his cousin in the San Bernardino shootings.
Wednesday’s senseless violence in San Bernardino, California once again shook up the country with outrage and grief. The tragic killings took the lives of several people, and a community was left stunned in the wake of the actions of some truly sick and abhorrent individuals.
With the identities of those that were killed finally being released one by one, it turned out one of them was the relative of New York Giants safety Nat Berhe. Berhe took Twitter to inform everyone that he had lost his cousin in the tragic event.
Just got word that one of my cousins was among the 14 killed yesterday, I'm so sick right now.

The true terror is that this keeps happening. I still can't believe it. Take a moment to think of the families hurting right now.

Just yesterday, during the incident, Berhe was on Twitter praying for those that were involved. He even tweeted out the location of his parents’ office building and just how close it was to the shooting.
Send a prayer up for my hometown #SanBernardino, active shooter situation, 20+ victims. Hurts my heart.

For a young man that worked his way to the NFL and who loved his city and his community, yesterday was already a terrible day for him. Now that he has confirmed that his cousin was one of those tragically taken away, it’s impossible for your heart to not pour out for Berhe and everything that he, his family and the community are going through right now.
