Kobe Bryant shouldn’t make final 2016 USA Olympic team

Kobe Bryant is part of the USA Olympic team player pool, but he shouldn’t make the final twelve-man roster as a player.
Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is having an off year in his finial NBA season. He’s currently on a farewell tour since announcing his retirement last week after the 2015-16 NBA season. It’s been a sad season as he has struggled individually. Yet, he is still apart of the player pool under consideration for the 2016 USA Olympic team according to TMZ Sports.
Ironically, the 2016 Olympics will be the final one coached by Coach K. Bryant shouldn’t be on the final team roster as there are better options to consider for the 12 roster. However, it would be wise for the coaching staff to have him come out to any practices and team events leading up to the Olympics. Bryant is one of the best to play the game and can use his experience to help the younger players.
In addition, it wouldn’t be surprising for Team USA to add Bryant to the coaching staff. Bryant would be a good mentor for the team and be able to connect with his peers in ways than the coaches could in certain ways. The players respect him and the coaches do too.
It would be foolish for him to make the final 12-man team. He would take a spot away from a more deserving player and his poor play wouldn’t help the team towards another gold medal. Yet, his basketball mindset and experience would be beneficial in a coaching role.
