Week 13 (QB) – The Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week!
The Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week!
If you are new to the article, thank you for reading! The ‘Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week’ column will be a weekly article about three quarterbacks that I believe could impact your DraftKings lineup in a positive or negative manner. The three categories are below:
Peak – A quarterback I like most this week, based on matchup, and their cost.
Weak – A quarterback who a lot of analysts are high on, or has a large price tag that will not be worth their cost.
Sneak – A quarterback sleeper for the week. A low-cost quarterback with boom potential.
‘Peak of the Week’ – Cam Newton: ($7,200) – Cam and his Carolina Panthers are the only undefeated team left in the league, as the New England Patriots finally lost to a good Denver Broncos team Sunday night. Cam has to be licking his chops as he gets to throw and run against the New Orleans Saints in week 13.
I can almost guarantee my readers that for the rest of the season, any quarterback who gets to throw against the Saints, they will make the article. Why? Because they continue, week in and week out to show how bad their pass defense is.
In the Saints last 4 games, they have given up 16 touchdowns (4 per game), while allowing 312.5 yards through the air. That is not good. This is why they rank dead last in terms of fantasy points per game given up to fantasy quarterbacks at 24.38.
I know I spoke about New Orleans’ pass defense, but Cam doesn’t just sling the ball around the field, he also scampers for big gains. Cam is averaging 38.81 yards per game, while scoring 7 touchdowns on the ground in 11 games.

New Orleans defense overall is terrible, Cam Newton and the Panthers are firing on all cylinder. This should be a long day at the Superdome on Sunday as Cam Newton should torch the Saints D.
‘Weak of the Week’ – Carson Palmer ($6,700) – Carson Palmer and the Cardinals played the Rams in Arizona earlier this year, and lost 24-22. Palmer and his Cardinals will fly to St. Louis to play the Rams, who are 3-2 at home.
Palmer, as a member of the Arizona Cardinals has played the Rams 4 times, and been intercepted in 3 out of those 4 games. He has only had one multiple touchdown game, while also having a game where he threw for 0 touchdowns.
The Rams allow only 15.00 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, ranking them 3rd best in the league. They are also a very opportunistic defense against quarterbacks, averaging just under 1 interception per game (.8).

Palmer is the 5th most expensive quarterback this week on DraftKings. I think Palmer can have an okay game, but on the road, playing against a division rival for the second time this year, I think there are better options.
‘Sneak of the Week’ – Ryan Tannehill (5,300) – Our ‘Sneak of the Weeks’ have been performing quite well up to this point in the year. The trend of dominance should continue with Ryan Tannehill playing against the porous Baltimore Ravens defense.
Tannehill went off against the New York Jets last week, throwing for 351 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Over his past 3 games, Tannehill has thrown for 7 touchdowns, against 2 interceptions, while averaging 252 yards.
If you have read this column before, you have heard about how much I like starting quarterbacks against the Ravens defense. The Ravens defense has been better as of late, but still are ranked in the bottom five in the league, allowing 20.19 fantasy points per game.
The Ravens are coming off a short week after a last second win against a Cleveland Browns team who has won 2 games up to this point. The Ravens, who lost Terrell Suggs in the first week of the season, continue to be decimated by injuries. This is why Ryan will be king of the TanneHILL this week as my ‘Sneak of the Week.’
