Brook Lopez and Robin Lopez decide Nets-Knicks with lightsabers

Brook Lopez and Robin Lopez spoiled the ending of the Brooklyn Nets vs New York Knicks game by duking it out with lightsabers.

There’s plenty of reasons to get excited about the Brooklyn Nets playing the New York Knicks. It’s a geographical rivalry, as both teams play within the bounds of New York City. It’s basically the NBA’s version of the Subway Series. Despite this making the match-up already exciting, there is an underlying story-line whenever the two teams play: the brotherly rivalry between twin brothers Brook Lopez and Robin Lopez.

Although before the rivalry has been settled strictly on the court (and maybe on the driveway), with the spirit of Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming out later this month, the two siblings decided to have a lightsaber battle. YES, the channel of the Nets had the segment, and the two brothers definitely look like they’ve had experience with lightsabers.

Fittingly, Brook won the battle (perhaps YES was a little biased in editing the fight). The older brother always wins, right? Robin Lopez has said that Brook was the older brother, but only by about a minute.

If the battle is any indication of how Friday night’s game in Madison Square Garden will go, it’s that the Nets will hold the Knicks closely throughout the game and go for the kill in the fourth quarter. But the odds tell us that the 5-13 Brooklyn Nets will be unable to take down the 9-10 New York Knicks on their home court.

Either way, if we can get more videos like this from the Lopez brothers, we all win.
