After Kentucky lost to UCLA on the road, their head coach isn’t letting the loss get the program down.

When the Kentucky Wildcats were upset by the UCLA Bruins on the road Thursday night, it was a jarring thought that the Wildcats could be upset by an unranked team that they should beat. Still, UCLA is a team with a great history that plays good basketball in the Pac-12.

While many might be down on the Wildcats after losing to the Bruins at Pauley Pavilion, John Calipari isn’t letting the loss get him or his team down. In fact, the Kentucky coach is looking at the whole situation from a positive angle and is seeing the whole situation as a lesson to be learned for the Wildcats.

He took to Twitter after the game to send out a message to all the fans, letting them know that his team will learn from the loss and move on forward and be better for it.

While it was a game that Kentucky should have won, there’s no shame in dropping a game to the Bruins on the road. The Bruins were going to give the Wildcats everything they could handle, and that’s exactly what they did when they beat Kentucky by a score of 87-77.

This could be exactly what Kentucky needs going forward. Last season they were hampered by the distraction of being undefeated all season. By getting one loss to a good team on the road out of the way early, they can now focus on getting the little things right and being a better team going forward as they prep for SEC play and eventually tournament time.

The Kentucky Wildcats have one of the most talented teams in the nation. Their head coach certainly isn’t going to allow them to lose sight of that. That’s why John Calipari is one of the best.
