The Arizona Diamondbacks have shocked the world by reportedly agreeing to a deal with Zack Greinke.

In an unexpected move that absolutely no one in the world saw coming, the Arizona Diamondbacks have outbid major market teams and the Los Angeles Dodgers for the services of right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke. After Greinke opted out of his deal with the Dodgers, everyone knew that the ace right-handed pitcher was going to get paid big time.

Well, according to Ken Rosenthal, that team that is paying him is the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Rosenthal had reported earlier in the day that the Diamondbacks were hot after Greinke, but no one thought that they were going to be serious bidders for his services.

Now the Diamondbacks go from a middling team to instant contenders by having Greinke. With an already dominant offense led by perennial MVP candidate, Paul Goldschmidt, the Diamondbacks now have the ace pitcher that they have long coveted since the days of Randy Johnson taking the mound for the team.

The Diamondbacks said all off-season that their goal was to get an ace. Well, they got their ace and now can move forward as they look to bring a second World Series to a city that hasn’t won one since the team won their first title in 2001 over the heavy favorite New York Yankees.

There’s hope again tn the desert, and his name is Zack Greinke.
