Stanford campaigns for Christian McCaffrey using virtual reality (Video)
Stanford is going the extra mile with technology to boost Christian McCaffrey’s Heisman Trophy chances
Christian McCaffrey has been one of the dark horses to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy all season. The Stanford Cardinal running back and kick returner has been a monster and leader for his team in virtually every aspect that he’s been asked to, racking up an insane amount of all-purpose yardage in the process. Now Stanford is going next level technologically to campaign for McCaffrey to win the Heisman.
On Friday, the Cardinal athletic program uploaded a video to YouTube that incorporates the newfound 360-degree virtual reality technology (unavailable on some web browsers) of the website to see just how awesome McCaffrey is from every angle that there is:
It’s safe to say that this might be a sign of the times when virtual reality is now a part of campaigning for a Heisman candidate. Or it could just be a sign that we are looking at a Heisman candidate who attends one of the best academic institutions in the country.
No matter what angle you’re looking at it from, though, it’s hard to deny McCaffrey’s body of work as a Heisman candidate. The success of Stanford, the yardage both as a running back and a special teams player, and the trips to the end zone are numerous and staggering. Just look around and the support for his Heisman case is all around.
