No. 19 Arizona Wildcats vs. No. 13 Gonzaga Bulldogs

Repeating last year’s exciting 66-63 overtime finish in Tuscon, Ariz., would be difficult for the Arizona Wildcats and Gonzaga Bulldogs who have a budding rivalry. Coming off their first loss of the season against an underrated Providence team, the Wildcats are looking to rack up two wins in a row as they won the consolation game of the Wooden Legacy over Boise State.

A great way to gain some confidence would be taking down the 5-1 No. 13 Bulldogs of Gonzaga. Senior forward Ryan Anderson leads the team in both points and rebounds with 16.0 and 10.2 per game, respectively. If Arizona can feed him in the post while also improving on its measly 28.1 percent team three-point shooting rate, a win over Gonzaga will look much more likely.

To no one’s surprise, Mark Few’s Bulldogs are once again one of the best non-power conference teams in the nation and the battle between Arizona’s Anderson and Gonzaga’s Domantas Sabonis in the post will be must-see TV. Few has assembled yet another solid team that looks likely to take home a West Coast Conference crown this season.

Kyle Wiltjer is the team leader and will be relied on heavily for scoring the rest of the way for the Zags. He averages 19.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, but the senior star’s shooting percentage from downtown has dropped about 10 points from last season. He will need to be on his game if Gonzaga is going to take care of business against the Wildcats.
