The Clemson punter has quickly become a target of frustration and ridicule from fans for an interesting decision.

Clemson punter Andy Teasdall has not officially cost the Tigers the ACC Championship, but there’s a great chance that he will become the goat if they lose to North Carolina.

Teasdall made a mysterious decision to run his own fake punt play that Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney never had in mind. He did this on a 4th-and-15 play and only gained four yards.

Here is a video of Teasdall marching to the beat of his own drum before Swinney chews out his punter.

Trying to imitate Madden proved to be a costly decision by the Clemson punter, as the Tar Heels went on to score the go-ahead touchdown and take a 16-14 lead in the second quarter. The Tigers have since entered halftime with a 21-16 lead, but this touchdown may still prove to be costly. Clemson entered the ACC Championship with an undefeated record, and they are set to be a lock for a spot in the College Football Playoff if they can overcome Teasdall’s miscue.

North Carolina has put together a fantastic season of their own, as they put a season-opening loss to South Carolina behind them and put together an 11-game winning streak to advance to the ACC Championship. It remains to be seen whether they will sneak into the College Football Playoff over Ohio State or Stanford, if they win the Pac-12 Championship, as those two teams are considered the top candidates to claim the fourth seed if a top team loses.
