Texas Longhorns vs. No. 12 Baylor Bears

The Baylor Bears are looking to improve on their 9-2 record in the final game of the Big 12 season with a victory over one of the conference’s bottom-dwellers, the Texas Longhorns. Coming off a loss on the road in a sloppy game against TCU, the Bears are looking to just finish strong and play for a chance to make a decent bowl game.

At least this season Baylor can’t complain about being left out of the College Football Playoff since they are clearly not one of the top four teams in the nation, especially without its first and second-string quarterbacks. When Seth Russell went down, it was up to former five-star QB prospect Jarrett Stidham to carry the load. Now that Stidham is hurt, the weight is on third-stringer Chris Johnson’s shoulders. He does, however, have some talented receivers to throw to.

Texas, on the other hand, never really had a chance this season. I, for one, thought the Longhorns would at least contend for a Big 12 title, but they have come nowhere near that, recording a 4-7 record through 11 games. With no passing offense to speak of, averaging just over 100 yards per game, and a decent run game, the Longhorns will try to beat the Bears on the ground.

Despite Baylor being an overwhelming favorite at home, this game could potentially be ugly.
