Awful call on Thomas Rawls fumble (Video)
Another awful call from NFL referees on Thomas Rawls’ fumbles the ball.
It’s been a bad season for the referees throughout the National Football League. On Sunday, they didn’t get off to a good start with this:
After a breakout return from Tyler Lockett, the Seattle Seahawks were in good position to get on the scoreboard. Running back Thomas Rawls received the ball, burst through an apparent gap, but had the ball knocked loose well before he hit the ground. It was clear for all to see apart from the men in black and white who called him down by contact.
However, Minnesota Vikings head coach, Mike Zimmer, smartly challenged the call, and after a clear, successful recovery from the Vikings defense, will put his offense on the field. It is a poor start for Rawls who is replacing the injured Marshawn Lynch. After a few huge games, many saw Rawls as a long term replacement for Lynch, but will have to prove he does not have a fumbling issue if he is to be considered the future in Seattle at running back.
The crucial NFC game will have a major factor in deciding the NFC wild card place. Both the Vikings and the Seahawks are chasing NFC wild card spots, with the Vikings battling it out with the Green Bay Packers for the NFC North title.
