Bengals’ Tyler Eifert out against Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati Bengals tight end, Tyler Eifert, is out for Sunday’s game with the Cleveland Browns.
One of the bigger stories throughout the week has been the health of Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert. Eifert has been awesome so far this season, especially in the red zone, leading the NFL in receiving touchdowns. However, Eifert suffered a pinched nerve in his back during last week’s demolition of the St Louis Rams. He did not return last week and has been unable to practice all week, and is now set to miss this Sunday’s match up with the Browns.
Per Adam Schefter, Eifert will not play against the divisional rivals, and he will be a major loss for Andy Dalton in an electric passing attack. Dalton has been one of the best players in the league this year, and owes much of his success to the weapons he has around him. The running back duo of Jeremy Hill and Giovanni Bernard cause plenty of problems out of the backfield, A.J. Green does A.J. Green things and Tyler Eifert catches touchdowns.
However, in Eifert’s absence, the Bengals will have to rely on other weapons to see off the Browns. Thankfully for Cincinnati, the Browns are downright awful, and will have Austin Davis starting at quarterback. The Browns will often find a way to lose, and the Bengals will need to win to maintain the chase for the number one seed in the AFC. They will, however, have to do so without Tyler Eifert.
