Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Indianapolis Colts will go on the road in Week 13 and travel to Heinz Field for an AFC matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the middling records of both teams, this game has huge postseason implications as the Colts are alive in the AFC South picture and the Steelers are still very much alive in the wildcard.

Ben Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh have been getting better as the 2015 season has worn on, even with DeAngelo Russell having to fill in for Le’Veon Bell due to injury. Moreover, Antonio Brown has been just completely out of his mind. The Colts on the other hand are another team that just seems to always be in the mix, despite having Matt Hasselbeck in the mix for an injured Andrew Luck.

Keys to Victory

The biggest key for the Colts in this game as they’ll try to keep pace with Pittsburgh is going to be Frank Gore in the rushing game. The Steelers have been a top-10 rushing defense this season, but Indy won’t be able to keep up with the Steelers offense if they don’t diversify their offensive attack and create ways to run the ball effectively come Sunday night.

As for Pittsburgh, the key is going to be in their rushing game as well with DeAngelo Williams. Williams has been decent, but not particularly noteworthy in his performance in recent weeks. Though the Colts defense is certainly nothing to write home about, the Steelers can’t let them hang around as several other teams had as of late and have paid the price as a result. Subsequently, Pittsburgh will need to have a balanced offensive attack and that starts with Williams being able to move the ball well in the offense on the ground.

Prediction

The Colts have been shockingly competent since the injury to Andrew Luck, but I don’t think a Hasselbeck led offense has the firepower to keep pace with Roethlisberger and the Steelers. Big Ben should be able to put a ton of points on the board and walk out with an important win on Sunday night.

Final Score: Indianapolis Colts: 18, Pittsburgh Steelers: 34
