Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker makes a great leaping catc.

The Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens are both sitting at 4-7 despite much more lofty goals before the season started. On Sunday they faced one another and the first score of the game was an exciting one.

Rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker made a great leaping reception for a touchdown, despite being covered well by Ravens defenders.

The 38-yard yard reception was the only play of the drive, after Ravens quarterback Matt Schaub was picked off. Dolphins signal caller Ryan Tannehill took a chance deep following the pick by his defense and was rewarded with the effort by the young receiver.

Parker was the 14th-overall pick  in 2015 NFL Draft and like the Dolphins themselves, he has struggled to reach expectations. He came into the contest Sunday with eight receptions on the year.

Week 12 was the first week that saw Parker get into the end zone since becoming a pro. The Dolphins surely hope this play could be a sign of things to come for the franchise that many felt could challenge for the AFC East. Instead, they have struggled mightily and even had to fire their head coach Joe Philbin earlier this season and insert interim coach Dan Campbell in his place.

For Baltimore, they have struggled as well, and now are forced to turn to Schaub for the remainder of the year after losing their starter Joe Flacco earlier in the season.
