Green Bay Packers concerned about Eddie Lacy

Running back Eddie Lacy is concerning the Green Bay Packers due to lack of commitment.

It hasn’t quite been the season everyone expected from Eddie Lacy. After an excellent series of performances down the stretch last season, many expected the Green Bay running back to elevate himself to elite level this season. In an apparently high-octane, high-scoring Packers’ offense, Lacy was meant to explode this season. Now, it looks as though he may not even break the 1,000-yard mark on the ground.

Such is Lacy’s troubles, that per Ian Rapoport, the Packers are concerned with his off-field commitment. Lacy has been criticized for his weight throughout the season, and he has certainly looked slow and sluggish bar a couple of explosive performances. His work ethic is under scrutiny off the field, and while the Packers recognize his on-field talents, it is such off-field problems that has seen him regress this season.

After Thursday Night’s unbelievable last minute win, Green Bay now sit at 8-4. They are in a fight with the Minnesota Vikings to win the NFC North, currently a half game behind. The Vikings have a tough game this Sunday, hosting an in-form Seattle Seahawks side and Green Bay will hoping to see Seattle give them a favor.

While the win helped the Packers’ chances of defending their NFC North title, the Thursday night game was detrimental for the season of Eddie Lacy. James Starks saw the most offensive action, and late in the game, Lacy was then replaced with John Crockett, who had been signed and activated only three hours before kick off. Lacy will need to get his act together if he wants to see extended time on the field again this season.
