Redskins troll the Giants on Twitter after loss

It wasn’t a good Sunday for the New York Giants, and the Washington Redskins let them know.

This has already been a season of disappointing losses for the New York Giants dating back to Week 1. First the Dallas Cowboys, then the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, then the New England Patriots in Week 10, now add the New York Jets to that list of games that slipped away.

The two teams that share MetLife Stadium squared off on Sunday, and it was green that prevailed over blue. With a 23-20 overtime victory, the Jets improved to 7-5 while the Giants dropped to 5-7. The Jets are currently right in the middle of the AFC Wild Card picture. The Giants? Slowly falling out of the NFC East race.

And the team that’s in first place, the Washington Redskins, let them have it on Twitter:

The Redskins didn’t have to say much, nor should they. Despite the Skins’ sub .500 5-6 record, that is good enough to lead the terrible NFC East by, now, a half game.

The Giants held a 20-10 halftime lead against Gang Green, but did not score another point despite moving the offense into Jets’ territory multiple times.

Late in the third quarter, the Giants drove to the Jets four-yard line, and had the opportunity to seal the game. On a fourth down play call, Eli Manning attempted a pass to Reuben Randle, who had a miscommunication with Manning, and the pass was subsequently intercepted by Jets’ defensive back Rontez Miles. The complexion of the entire game changed on that one call. The Jets scored the game’s final 13 points. Josh Brown, who had not missed a field goal all season, missed a 48-yard field goal in OT that would have extended the game.

The Redskins wrap up their season playing the Cowboys twice, the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears (not in that order). No team is currently above .500. They control their own destiny for the NFC East Division Championship. (Thumbs up emoji)
