Aroldis Chapman allegedly choked girlfriend, fired gunshots
Aroldis Chapman allegedly choked his girlfriend.
The Los Angeles Dodgers thought they had a new closer on Monday morning, but suddenly the trade they had agreed upon with the Cincinnati Reds for star Aroldis Chapman was put on hold.
Many seemed unsure of the reason, but we now have an answer. Back in October, Chapamn was accused of firing off eight shots out of his firearm after choking his girlfriend and pushing her against a wall at his Miami home, according to a police report via Yahoo Sports.

Chapman, 27, has been one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball over the last few seasons but should these accusations be true, his reputation is down the tubes and justifiably so. He will be lumped in as just another meathead athlete with no respect for women or the law.
At this point, no arrests have been made and Chapman’s representation is denying all of the claims in the report, per Yahoo.
"“I’ve reviewed the facts as portrayed,” Jay Reisinger, Chapman’s attorney, told Yahoo Sports on Monday night. “On behalf of Mr. Chapman, we vehemently deny the allegations as stated. Beyond that, we have no further comment at this time.”"
In the report, it says the incident took place on Oct. 30 and that more than a dozen police officers were sent to the scene. The girlfriend was found hiding in the bushes outside the home.
Regardless of what is true and what isn’t, the whole situation is a sad mess.
