The Brooklyn Nets will be without a talented young player for a while, as Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will undergo ankle surgery.
The Brooklyn Nets are off to another rough year, and the future doesn’t appear to be bright when they have a lack of future assets to show for their down year. However, one of the few bright spots on the struggling Nets, was young forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
The Arizona Wildcats product, who they acquired on draft night, has shown flashes of potential for the Nets this season. Coming out of the draft, Hollis-Jefferson was known for his tenacious defense and his hard-working ability on both ends of the court.
Now it appears that he is going to be out for some time, as the rookie will need to undergo surgery on his ankle, according to the team.
"Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the posterior talus in his right ankle, General Manager Billy King announced today. The injury occurred during practice on Saturday, December 5. Hollis-Jefferson will undergo surgery this week, and a timetable for his return will be established following the procedure."
While not many things have been going right for the Nets this season, Hollis-Jefferson was one of the few things that the fans in Brooklyn could look forward to, as he has shown that he is a player that is going to fight hard to become a good player in this league.
Now he’s going to have a minor detour to start his career, but if Hollis-Jefferson’s work ethic has shown anything, he will work hard to come back from this surgery and become the player that the Nets and many around the league expect him to become.
