After reports had the Cincinnati Reds sending Aroldis Chapman to the Los Angeles Dodgers, it appears the deal isn’t done yet.

Don’t put up the graphic with Aroldis Chapman in a Photoshopped Los Angeles Dodgers uniform quite yet. After it was reported earlier that the Cincinnati Reds’ closer would be heading to the Dodgers in a trade, it appears that the deal between the two teams might not be done yet.

According to Cincinnati Reds beat reporter for MLB.com, Mark Sheldon, the deal between the two clubs has not been completed and their might possibly be other teams involved.

Now the big question here is whether or not that means that the other teams involved are in on Chapman, or are apart of a mega-trade that would still land Chapman with the Dodgers?

It’s clear that the Dodgers are looking to add Chapman to the back end of the bullpen to make some noise. They already have Kenley Jansen, but if they add Chapman, it’s likely they would probably want to move him somewhere else. Is this a matter of the prospects the Dodgers are sending? They have talented farm pieces, but perhaps they’re soliciting the help of another team to help facilitate a deal in this scenario with the Reds.

Whatever the case may be, if the report is true, then the deal isn’t done yet and the two sides have some work to do. That’s if the Reds aren’t already talking with someone else in the league about their closer and his availability.
