The Golden state Warriors are still undefeated, but they suffered a loss on Tuesday when Klay Thompson left late with an ankle injury.

UPDATE: It appears that Thompson isn’t seriously injured but might miss ‘a couple of days’ due to his ankle. X-rays were negative though, which is a positive.

The last thing the Golden State Warriors need in the middle of this 23-game winning streak to start the season is an injury to derail things. It’s something that has set teams back in the past, and Golden State seems overdue for something to go wrong. That might have happened on Tuesday against the Pacers, as the Warriors managed to wi the game but lost a major piece of their team. Late in the win over Indiana, Klay Thompson rolled his ankle and looked to be in considerable pain on  the bench when he was getting evaluated by team doctors. Here’s the play that Thompson hurt his ankle on late in the fourth quarter against the Pacers:

It’s unclear how hurt Thompson is, but the Warriors are already being bitten but injury bug in a way that might end their wining streak. Harrison Barnes suffered an injury earlier this season that scared some fans, and now Klay has an ankle injury that no one knows how serious it is. It could just be a simple ankle roll, but we won’t know more until Wednesday.

Injury is probably going to be what undoes this winning streak by the Warriors — but Thompson’s late game injury against the Pacers didn’t stop the team from improving to 23-0 on the season. How far beyond that they get without him is less certain.
