12. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have limped through a disastrously complicated season. It’s one that began with outside hopes/rumblings of a chance at unseating the New England Patriots in the NFC East.

And then boom went the dynamite.

Ryan Tannehill hasn’t been terrible, but he’s not performed to the level expected of a $100 million quarterback (especially when compared to what Cam Newton is doing in Carolina). Ndamukong Suh has been a malcontent. And Joe Philbin was fired midway through the season.

What was supposed to be a big year is a season in which the Fins have been lapped by the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

Louis Delmas was supposed to be a savior in the defensive backfield, but Miami forgot that he gets hurt every season (this year in the preseason in a scrimmage against the Panthers). Enter Jalen Ramsey out of Florida State.

Ramsey is the type of guy who comes in as a free safety, but can rotate into the cornerback slot to help out alongside Brent Grimes. He’s the latest athletic wunderkind sent to the pro ranks by Jimbo Fisher and will become a household name down in Miami – a fan base that already knows him from his time in Tallahassee.

Ramsey will provide a reliable boost to a unit in need of some help.
