18. Houston Texans

This pick might be controversial, but it would be the right decision. Look, Houston desperately needs a quarterback. Anybody who follows the National Football League is well aware of the issues that the Texans have had at that position for most of their franchise’s existence. The problem is the draft class. Connor Cook and Christian Hackenberg are not first-round talents and Jared Goff will be long gone by the time Houston is on the clock. The Texans could go with a receiver or a running back, but those positions are deep and could be had in the middle to late rounds.

Houston should stick with the board and take the best player available. The Texans could add Bullard to the fold, a standout over the years with the University of Florida. Yes, this would likely mean the end of Jadeveon Clowney or Whitney Mercilus being the stars that everyone was banking on, but both have been a major disappointment and doesn’t look like he’s improving much. Bullard would give the Texans another pass-rushing threat to go with J.J. Watt, something that could vault Houston into a playoff spot even with middling quarterback play in 2016. Bullard would be the right pick.
