7. St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams shoved all their chips towards the center of the table and made a very large gamble on Todd Gurley during the 2015 NFL Draft. And, despite Gurley’s recent slump, it appears to be a move that paid off in spades for the Rams. The explosive back out of Georgia has given the offense a shot of adrenaline right in the keister, and helped elevate what was a stagnant offense.

Looking to get even more firepower, Jeff Fisher once again rolls the dice on offense. Granted, taking Laquon Treadwell is not nearly as much of a risk as Gurley, but there’s always a bit of eyebrow raising when skill players go so high in the draft.

Treadwell is unquestionably the draft’s best receiver, which is saying something for a class that includes Corey Coleman, Josh Doctson and Michael Thomas. He’s a burner off the line, who possesses the strength to immediately matchup against professional cornerbacks.

The addition of Treadwell effectively gives St. Louis a bevy of skill players that will create matchup nightmares. He’ll pair up with the speedy Tavon Austin, Gurley and stablemate Tre Mason. There’s obviously a question under center with Nick Foles, but if he can’t succeed with all these young bucks then show’s over, Johnny.

Treadwell is one more addition in the climbing process as St. Louis makes another step to become a playoff team, rather than a mercurial spoiler.
