If the Los Angeles Lakers decide to move on from Byron Scott, these are the seven head coaching candidates they should consider.

The Los Angeles Lakers are dead last in the Western Conference, and are in the running for another top draft pic, so long as it doesn’t fall outside the top three, then it becomes property of the Philadelphia 76ers.

With another disastrous season on tap, the only thing to look forward to in Los Angeles, would be the development of their young players and the farewell tour stops for Kobe Bryant, before he rides off into the sunset and calls it a career in the NBA.

While the Lakers could add another potentially talented young player next season, should they keep their pick, it’s not going to matter as long as Byron Scott remains the head coach of the Lakers. With another tumultuous season, and Scott being at the forefront of all things Lakers, thanks in part to his coaching decisions, it’s hard to even see him surviving after the season as head coach, let alone maybe even during it.

After he benched D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle, many people were scratching their heads in confusion, as Russell was beginning to figure the game out and Randle was a beast on the boards for the Lakers. With confusing decisions like that and weird rotations, Scott hasn’t been doing a good job as coach.

While his rosters haven’t been great, his decisions have been worse and it is becoming apparent by the day that he is not the coach for the Los Angeles Lakers. They were the one win for the 76ers, and they have been embarrassing to watch.

For such a proud franchise, losing won’t be tolerated and the odds of Scott staying as head coach can’t be good. So if the Lakers are once again searching for another coach, they’re going to have to find the right one that can bring success to the team and will be there for a while.

Here are eight coaches that the Los Angeles Lakers should consider for their next head coach.
